hiYA

Cath and I have decided to combine our creative writing skills for today’s blog, two heads are better than one after all.

Our homemade cherry compote and muesli set us all for the day as we started to space and place in the magnificent venue that has been constructed by our wonderful tech team Matt and Janine under the artistic guidance of Gary. It’s been amazing to see the transformation from the Royal ballroom to dance performance space. It’s been a challenge to incorporate the Baroque themed decoration in with our 21st century styled music and movement collaborations, all this combined with reworking the pieces so that they work ‘in the round’.

We were lucky enough to catch some rays this afternoon in the Castle grounds, which are quite spiffing when you take time to enjoy the scenery and reflect on our journey so far.

We had a sneak peek of the video projection that was produced by Gary and Ben and we’re very much looking forward to seeing it as a whole. You’d be surprised to see what you can do with some moving bodies, a bus and some cardboard boxes!

It’s overwhelming to be sitting and sharing dinner with such established artists who share with us their passions, highs, lows, hits, misses and maybes. It’s inspiring to us as young performers to hear that there is not only one path to becoming a ‘success’ and that these artists are still constantly evaluating themselves and growing further.

We are now off to enjoy one of the perks of castle life….a roll top bath.

Thanks for taking the time to read our blog this evening,

Cat and Meg
