We are thrilled to let you know that we have received funding from the Gwent Regional Partnership Board Regional Fund ~ Further Faster.
This generous grant will enable us to further expand our provision to help people stay well in their communities, thereby reducing the need for hospital or statutory services.
Our project Move And Be Well, will be suitable particularly for those waiting for surgery on major joints like hips, knees and shoulders and also those who have had surgery, completed physiotherapy and care and provision has been withdrawn from them just at the most vital time for whole healing.
Regular movement is essential for living well, providing significant physical and mental health benefits, including reduced stress, improved sleep, higher energy, and protection against diseases.
There are numerous health benefits of moving more for example:
- it reduces the risk of serious illnesses like heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and cancer
- regular activity increases energy levels and improves sleep quality
- regular exercise combined with a healthy diet can help manage weight putting less stress on the heart, major organs and joints
By earlier intervention before older people become immobile, this prevents their needs from escalating and thereby also putting less pressure on our health services and hospitals.
We are delighted to be starting this project this month: please contact Catrin on info@ffindance.co.uk if you would like to be involved ~ there is no charge 😊
