Fresh from our performances at the Edinburgh Fringe last weekend, the company travelled to the Rhineland in Germany yesterday, for the prestigious tanz@namedy dance festival. The festival is curated by Gary Lambert for the Princess Heide von Hohenzollern.
We arrived very late last night having driven from Calais and found ourselves in a traditional German village trying to find a castle. Easy you might say? Alas no! At the stroke of midnight (literally), our bus pulled in to the grounds of the castle and after several hilarious attempts at finding the main entrance, we finally got the correct gate and drove up an imposing driveway.
Welcomed by Gary, we entered the castle like the cast of a Hammer House film: a stunning castle dating from the 14th Century, not quite believing the stunning architecture and grandeur of the house. After a short meeting in what I would describe as the most grand of Green Rooms ever, off to bed in an equally grand bed room. Think I could get used to this …
