Work

The company has 2 main threads

  1. Performance
  2. Education and Outreach

Performance

The philosophy underpinning the work that FFIN DANCE produces is centred around quality and innovation.
Artistic Director, Sue Lewis, believes in collaborating with her dancers, and the process of making new work is always challenging and of equal importance as the product.

Key to the company is performing work that is innovative and fresh, and often challenging for the audience.

Music plays a huge part in the company repertoire, having previously used an eclectic selection of composers including:

  • Rachmaninov
  • Groove Armada
  • Shostakovich
  • Björk
  • Tansy Davies, Alison Kay, Oscar Bettison and Deborah Pritchard (Hoxton 13)
  • Massive Attack
  • John Dowland
  • Chopin
  • Radiohead
  • Tom Waits
  • Graham Fitkin
For 2011/2012 tour, we are delighted to have a specially commissioned work by Sheffield based composer Jenny Jackson – Five Dances

Promoters and venue managers will find more information on the home page

Education and outreach

In addition to our rolling programme of dance classes and intensives, FFIN DANCE is working closely with New Ground, a volunteers programme set up by FFIN to make work for young dancers based in the Blaenau Gwent area
